Dr Bruce and Nellie Litchfield
Dr. N. Bruce Litchfield, BDS (Hons), MDS (Syd.), FRACDS, PhD (Bio.Sc.), Dip.Bib.S, B.Min, MA (Coun), PhD (Coun), Cert.IV.Ass.Wp.Tr., MACA (NP)
Bruce is a missionary, family therapist, dentist, teacher and author.
After being a specialist dentist for 30 years he temporarily left dentistry and joined Youth With A Mission in 1986 and pursued further studies. He completed a Diploma in Biblical Studies at Vision Christian College , Sydney in 1986 and a Bachelor of Christian Ministries degree at Rhema College , Queensland in 1988. He also completed a Master of Arts in Counselling at the University of the Nations (YWAM) in Hawaii (1989) and a Doctor of Philosophy in Counselling at Vision International University in California (1991). He returned to dentisry part-time in 1996 and still practices in Canberra, but his main activity is family ministry, teaching, counselling training and writing.

Nellie is a missionary, family therapist, mentor and co-author.
She also joined Youth With A Mission in 1987 and completed a Diploma in Biblical Studies at Vision Christian College , Sydney in 1987 and a Bachelor of Arts in Counselling at the University of the Nations in Hawaii in 1991. She has also recently received the Diploma in Christian Counselling and Family Therapy in Canberra.
Bruce and Nellie returned from USA in 1992 where they spent five years studying, teaching and practising counselling and family therapy. They have been working since 1986 with Youth With A Mission (YWAM).
In addition to being actively involved in the Youth With A Mission family ministry program in Canberra they were also engaged in professional marriage and famly therapy practice in Canberra for14 years.
Bruce and Nellie are the founders and national directors of the Australian Institute of Family Counselling Ltd. (AIFC), the largest counselling training organisation in Australia, with training centes in 10 locations. Bruce is also the president of AIFC.
They are currently the Directors of the Family Resource Centre (YWAM), Canberra. They work as a husband/wife team in ministry. This includes conducting seminars on family, marriage, parenting and addiction in Australia and overseas. Bruce and Nellie feel particularly called to Eastern Europe, Africa and China and spend some six-eight weeks each year teaching, ministering and distributing books in these countries. They also send YWAM short-term mission teams to Uganda each year.
